Aim

Are you frustrated using your camera on Auto?

Or are you maybe still struggling with the Manual shooting mode dialing your camera buttons randomly?

Do you feel the need to fully understand the magic of light in photography?

In this 8-week technical course, I will guide you step by step to go off-auto and use your digital camera in full manual mode.

My aim is to support you to learn how to envisage a photograph before you take it and then achieve exactly that result in-camera by controlling and combining different settings and functions.

Together, we will demystify the Exposure Triangle and unlock its secrets that will lead you to capturing what you want with ease and full understanding of what you are doing.

Join me and finally take creative control of your camera so that you express yourself with confidence!

If group learning is not for you, check my coaching programme The PROBIE System for a more holistic and transformative experience to your creative growth)

"From camera-terrified to camera-confident

... Eva's skill in breaking down the elements of basic photography, combined with the fun of creative expression, totally transformed my relationship with my camera from one of mistrust to one of dellightful playfulness.

I can't recommend Eva's courses enough - and I'm definitely coming back for more!" Rose

General Outline of a Lesson Plan for each Weekly Session

Each session consists of mainly three parts:

Part I

Looking at your photographs (homework based on the theme of the previous week), commenting on the composition and technical aspects of them, and suggesting ways to improve them. At the same time, I will be answering your questions helping you to make your beginners' photography journey as easy as possible.

Part II

Explaining and demonstrating the new weekly theme. You will be applying in practice step by step what has been demonstrated and with my help, you will be able to understand and further practise every single aspect of shooting in Manual Mode as well as all the most important functions and settings of your digital camera.

Part III

Summing up the main ideas, which were discussed during the previous parts and discussing the nature of your next homework.

Handouts

At the the end of each weekly session, I will be sending you e-handouts by email.

Camera guidelines

A  DSLR or mirrorless camera is ideally the best type of camera you can have if you want to really explore and experiment with photography at a beginner level. However, all types of cameras are welcome, as long as they have a manual shooting mode setting.
