Landscape Photography Walk

Brighton Outdoor Workshop

Aim


In this workshop I will support you to practise the most fundamental principles of Landscape Photography along a photo walk route.

I will introduce you to simple rules and techniques in how to achieve eye-catching compositions of landscape and urbanscape scenes. Taking inspiration from famous landscape photographers you will be guided both in theory and practice to express your creativity and make the best use of your camera. Open to all with or without knowledge of Photography but with an enthusiasm and imagination to create and learn from it.

 

 

Objectives

 

At the end of the workshop you will be able to:

 

- demonstrate a critical understanding of the basic principles and aspects of Landscape Photography.

  

- demonstrate a practical engagement with landscape photography by taking your own photographs

 

- critically reflect on the making of your own images and discuss the process behind them in terms of how you used the principles of landscape photography in your pictures.

 

 

General Workshop Outline


10:00- 11:10

Introductions

Theory session – explaining with visuals the basic principles and aspects of Landscape Photography

Tea & Biscuits Break (biscuits are provided, bring your own drink)

 

11:20 - 12:30

Play Time - - theory into practice - Part I

 

12:30 – 13:00 

Lunch Break 

 

13:00 -15:00

Play Time - theory into practice- Part II

You will be taking photographs walking along the dedicated landscape route. You can work on specific themes I will be giving you or you can choose to shoot freely. I will be guiding you along the way and when needed and giving you individual attention and practical tips on how to achieve your desired results.

  

15:00 – 15:50

Feedback Time with Tea & Biscuits (biscuits are provided, bring your own drink)

Looking at each other’s photographs, commenting on them in a non-judgemental environment, suggesting new ideas, and reflecting on the making process.

 

15:50- 16:00

Summing up on the workshop themes, leaving your workshop feedback, and suggesting ideas for further workshops based on your needs.

At the end of the workshop, I will be sending you e-handouts by email


 

Camera guidelines

A DSLR or mirrorless camera are ideally the best types of cameras you can have if you want to really explore and experiment with photography. However, all camera devices are welcome, including smartphones or tablets and you will still benefit from the workshop.



Refund & Cancellation Policy

No refunds:

- if you cancel within 15 days before the start of the course.

- if the course is cancelled but a new date is scheduled

- if you stop attending it or any sessions of it




Minimum Age

12 years old is the minimum age for participants to attend the workshop on their own. For younger children please contact me.
