Aim
This workshop aims at guiding you to take better photographs with your smartphone.
You will be introduced to some basic photographic composition rules along with the main photography functions of your phone and some basic editing techniques.
It will be taught on an iPhone. However, both iPhone users as well as Android smartphone users are welcome with any models of phones.
Objectives
At the end of the workshop you will be able to:
- demonstrate a critical understanding of the basic principles of Smartphone Photography.
- demonstrate a practical engagement with smartphone photography by taking your own photographs
- critically reflect on the making of your own images and discuss the making process

Introductions
Theory session – explaining with visuals the basic principles of Smartphone Photography

Play Time - theory into practice- Part I
You will be taking photographs using your smartphone. You can work on specific themes I will be giving you or you can choose to shoot freely. I will be guiding you along the way and giving you individual attention and practical tips on how to achieve your desired results.

Editing time
You will be editing some of the photographs you took during your practice. You will need to download the ‘Snapseed’ app before you come to the workshop. I will be demonstrating some basic editing techniques using Snapseed which you will apply in your photographs as a way to experiment and play.

Feedback with Tea & Biscuits
We will be looking at each other’s photographs, commenting on them in a non-judgemental environment, suggesting new ideas, and reflecting on the making process.
16:20- 16:30
Summing up on the workshop themes, leaving your workshop feedback, and suggesting ideas for further workshops based on your needs.
